The annual Canowindra show was cancelled again this year due to the pandemic and Moyne Aged Care Centre have previously been active participants in the local show. So, Moyne came up with a plan to hold their own show for their residents which involved many weeks of preparation, including making cakes for the cake baking competition, making flower arrangements and a colouring competition.
All colouring competition entries were on display at the William Booth Pavilion and prizes were awarded in each section. It was a wonderful attraction and residents and staff enjoyed looking at the entries. There was also ice cream, popcorn, Dag-wood dogs, coloured hairspray, a dress-up box, a barbecue and side shows such as lucky ducks, balloon darts, knock over the pins and ring toss for residents on the Day too. Everyone had the chance to win a prize.
Carol, who has been a staff member at Moyne for over 50 years, kindly brought her Austin classic car in for the Day and gave rides around the Centre’s grounds much to the enjoyment of residents.
The weather was perfect for the event which brought the staff, who dressed for the occasion, and the residents closer. It was a fun day of friendship and laughter for all involved.
