Click And Collect And Delivery At Library

16 September, 2021 By Canowindra Phoenix Editor

Librarian Rossanne Holmes ready for deliveries and click and collect.

Central West Libraries are offering a ‘knock and drop’ library book and click and collect services because of the extension to the COVID-19 stay-at-home orders.

Canowindra Branch Officer Rossanne Holmes said this is an extension to a service the Library already has.

Library members can reserve books online or call 6344 1796.

“I know the regulars and have rung to let them know what we’ve got, about the new releases. Readers are happy for me to choose for them,” Rossanne said.

The Library team wants to help our community get through these difficult times by providing a welcome distraction with reading – books and magazines, large print, entertaining DVDs and audiobooks.

Staff will call first to check delivery details and any special instructions. Deliveries are usually within town limits.

The most popular genres are mystery, suspense and biographies; which the library caters for, with a diverse range of titles.

“It’s definitely a benefit for the community. It gives people something to think about. It takes them to a different place and is something nicer to think about,” Rossanne said.

There are all sorts of titles from westerns to war history, young adult, picture books, parenting, mysteries, crime, fantasy, biography, cookbooks, house and garden, and more.

For eAudiobooks, platforms BorrowBox, indyreads and Libby have free apps available from both the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. Find the app, download it, search for Central West Libraries, then use your membership number (and PIN if prompted) to log in.

Also, check out the COVID-19 Specials page for extra titles for children and adults. TumbleBooks are offering free access to their content during the COVID-19 pandemic. Follow the links below and use the username and password provided.
