Canowindra CWA Newsletter … April 2014

16 April, 2014 By Canowindra Phoenix Editor

April Meeting: The CWA will not be meeting this month as there is so much going on during meeting week in Canowindra! With Easter, the Balloon Championships, History in the Club series and Anzac Day, it was decided at the last meeting not to hold our regular meeting. Instead, go and explore all the amazing community events on offer!

March Meeting:
Canowindra CWA – Minutes

  • It was agreed to have two social meetings per year – Birthday celebration in May and the End of Year / Christmas meeting in November.
  • The sale of the CWA accommodation property at Potts Point was discussed, and voted upon.
  • Glenda Gavin attended an International Day Lunch at Cu- dal on April 14 on behalf of our branch.

ANZAC DAY: Dawn services will be held in our area at Canowindra Me- morial Park and St Albans’ Anglican Church, Toogong, and then there is a March along Gaskill St at 11am.

Sing Canowindra! The first of our workshops will be held on Sun 25th May. Sing Canowindra is a choral workshop led by Sydney based singer/songwriter Christina Mimmochi.

Cultural News: Project packs have been distributed to the local schools for the students to start work on their posters about Botswana, ready to present at the CWA International Day in August.

Catering: The next big events to come up are the Model Aeroplane canteen over the Easter Long Week- end, and the Night Markets and Bal- loon Glow on Saturday April 26, at which we will be serving sliders and lamb shank soup. If you are interested in help- ing please contact Conni Christensen.
