Camerata Antica will be performing at Baroquefest 2021.
Camerata Antica Headlining At Baroquefest 2021: Baroquefest has announced it will be showcasing the talents of Camerata Antica, including Matthew Manchester on cornetto, Daniel Morris on theorbo, David Drury on organ with soprano Anna Sandström in this year’s festival.
Camerata Antica was formed in 2010 by Matthew Manchester and Anna Sandström. Featuring cornetto and voice, the ensemble explores the strong connections between voices and instruments in 16th and 17th century music.
The core members of the ensemble have featured with many of the leading early music ensembles in the UK and Australia, including His Majesty’s Sagbutts and Cornetts, The Gabrieli Consort, The Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment, The Armonico Consort, Salut! Baroque, The Australian Baroque Brass, Orchestra of the Antipodes, Pinchgut Opera, Australian Romantic and Classical Orchestra and the Australian Brandenburg Orchestra.
Free Dog and Cat Vaccinations: Cabonne residents will be able to take advantage of a limited number of free dog or cat annual vaccination vouchers offered by Cabonne Council this month. Vaccinating your pet strengthens immunity against disease and is one of the best insurances for the good health of your pet.
The vouchers are limited to one per household and can be redeemed at the Molong or Orange Vet Hospital, the Canowindra or Cowra Veterinary Clinic or Wellington Veterinary Hospital. The vaccination vouchers are for Cabonne residents only and can be obtained by contacting Council’s Environmental Services Department on 6392 3247. Vouchers must be used before Wednesday, 30 June 2021.
Music In My Suitcase: Two-hundred and thirty primary school students descended on Canowindra at the end of last month for a performance entitled Music In My Suitcase. The event, which was held at the Canowindra Services Club, was hosted by Baroquefest.
The children were thoroughly entertained by a group of professional musicians, who came together with the support of Musica Viva, to bring a varied program of songs from different cultures. Unusual instruments and singalong elements created an environment of fun and education which the children really enjoyed. Students came from Canowindra, Eugowra, Gooloogong, Greenethorpe, Koorawatha, Holmwood, Wyangala Dam, Woodstock and Mandurama.
The Baroquefest committee subsidised the bus travel to the concert for the schools from outside Canowindra. Some of the visiting schools went on to tour the Age of Fishes Museum, seeing what Canowindra has on offer.
230 primary school students enjoyed a performance at Canowindra Services Club at the end of last month.
