Businesses are encouraged to register as a supplier for the Wyangala Dam wall raising project.

Business Encouraged to Register as Supplier for Wyangala Upgrade: Wa-terNSW is encouraging local businesses to register as a supplier for the Wyangala Dam wall raising project. The local business register will be provided to the major construction contractors so they can demonstrate how they will maximise local business and employment opportunities as part of the tender process. “I encourage all businesses in Cabonne to get involved,” said Cabonne Mayor Kevin Beatty.

Cabonne Seeing Benefits of Drought Fund: A $900,000 grant from the NSW Government’s Drought Stimulus Package has supported the Cabonne Shire community, generating work for local trades and suppliers and delivering broader benefits to the community. The funding has enabled upgrades to eight community halls and a new more efficient watering system for Cargo Oval. 52 projects in total were funded by the Drought Stimulus Package across regional NSW, boosting local economies through the worst drought on record.

Government Backing Farmers: The Australian Government has released the May 2021 Delivering Ag 2030 plan, highlighting further measures that the government has put in place to back the agricultural industry as it works towards its goal of $100 billion production by 2030.
Minister for Agriculture, Drought and Emergency Management David Littleproud said the agricultural industry has been crucial to the nation’s economic recovery and a shining light in the Australian economy.
“The Australian Government is backing the hard work our agricultural industry puts in by providing over $850 million in funding through this year’s budget.”
“This investment will drive the competitiveness, growth and resilience of the agricultural industry. It will deliver the tools required for producers to reach their goals.”

Inclusive Playground Update: The inclusive play spaces in Molong and Canowindra, funded under the NSW Government’s Everyone Can Play fund are coming along nicely. A revised plan has been agreed upon for the Morris Park playground in Canowindra to ensure the play space will be situated around the existing parkland trees. No changes to any of the playground elements or equipment will occur and the modifications will still allow inclusive play for all. The revised playground layout relocates the swing and carousel from the southern side of the shelter to the northern side.
