Canowindra Songbird Releases New Album: Local talent, Nerida Cuddy, released a new album earlier this month entitled Woven. The album is filled with Australian “story-songs” based on Nerida’s experiences, including her passion for Australia as she sees it, “as a weaving of ancient peoples and new, untold beauty and harsh extremes, resilience and brokenness.” Nerida has spent 19 years of her life in Canowindra, engaged in youth and community work. The album itself will be officially launched with a concert in Canowindra in May, though it is now available to purchase online via www.nerida.info.

Landline Turns 30: The popular ABC farming program Landline is celebrating 30 years on television this year. Minister for Agriculture, Drought and Emergency Management David Littleproud has extended his congratulations to the program saying, “Landline has made a unique contribution to the Australian character by connecting rural communities and bringing the voice of rural and regional Australia to living rooms across the nation. For the last 30 years, Landline has kept Australia in the loop on the stories that matter to primary producers in our regional and rural areas. Landline highlights the initiative and resourcefulness our farmers.”
