Despite a busy weekend in Canowindra, last week’s hospital fundraiser at the Golf Club was a great success. Organiser June Brooks came up with the idea to raise funds for the hospital to purchase a new lockable emergency cart, which unlike the existing cart, meets new safety requirements needed for accreditation.
June was joined by Faye Thomas and Annette Thomas who along with Golf Club members and staff, worked together to put on the day which involved a game of golf, raffles and an auction along with a sausage sizzle. The sausages and onions were donated by the IGA.
June said that many people were eager to donate, as most in our community have been helped by the Health Service over the years. All up the event raised $1,670 with the Canowindra Services Club picking up the remaining $915 for the purchase of the cart.
“We are so appreciative of the way the community has rallied together and raised this money,” said Canowindra Health Service manager, Janice Rumph. “We try hard to maintain a high standard of care and this new lockable emergency cart meets the safety requirements which will ensure that we can continue to bring high quality care to Canowindra.”
