Canowindra Junior Cricket Team, Stage Three, travelled to Twigg Oval in Cowra to take on the Cowra Renegades. The team won the toss and elected to bowl. The bowling and fielding was marvellous, keeping the Renegades to a total score of 109. Archie McDonald, Bailey Kennedy, Colby Burling and Mitchell Cartright each got a wicket. Ethan Burling claimed two wickets including another wicket maiden.
Though Stage Three had a bumpy start with the bat, their middle order batsmen really stepped up and put the team back in the game.
The top batsmen were Jonty Thurgate and Ethan Burling with eight runs each, Archie McDonald with 17 runs and a cracking effort from Colby Burling scoring 29 runs from 29 balls.
Though the team came up eight runs short, they should be very proud of their performance and they are improving week to week.
Colby Burling took Man of the Match as the team prepares to host the Cowra Strikers at Clyburn Oval.
