Archie McDonald has been selected to play with the U14s Western Plains Cricket.05

Canowindra High School’s Archie McDonald has gained further representative honours this week by being selected into the U14s Western Plains Cricket team to play in the upcoming NSW Youth Championships to be held in Dubbo just prior to Christmas.

The Gooloogong flyer is enjoying his first season playing Saturday cricket with Canowindra after six full seasons with Cowra Junior Cricket.

On top of representing Cowra District on Sunday’s the Year 7 student has enjoyed a successful campaign of late, representing Lachlan Cricket Council at the recent invitational carnival held in Dubbo.

The upcoming state wide Youth Championships are an opportunity to play against the best U14 players from across the state. The Western Plains team will play seven games of cricket in eight days consisting of 50 over matches and T20 double headers.

“This is a great opportunity to test ourselves against quality players from across the state in the heat at Dubbo,” says Archie.

Best of luck from your local district team!
