Ladies Golf

17 September, 2020 By Canowindra Phoenix Editor

A field of thirty five ladies enjoyed the well prepared course for the Annual Canowindra Ladies Golf Tournament last Thursday 10th September. Familiar friends and faces travelled from Grenfell, Wellington, Trundle, Forbes, Cowra, Duntryleague Orange and Wentworth Orange.

Each player experienced a challenge or two of the course, hitting the water, getting caught in the rough or finding a few too many trees! The fairways were inviting and well prepared, so the question begs “why not stay on them?”.

Thank you to those who always give their time to mow on a regular basis as well as the merry band of helpers the day before the tournament for their extra effort. A real team effort for a successful day in difficult times. Special mention here to Paul and Bruce for your help on the day. Now the results:

Division 1 – Scratch Eileen Wilson (Canowindra), R/U Denise Haesler (Wellington); Handicap Lorrae Barker (Canowindra), R/U Jan Myers (Grenfell); Stable- ford Julie Fairley (Canowindra), R/U Helen Moriarty (Cowra). Nearest the Pin on the 6th Annette Thomas (Canowindra).

Division 2 – Scratch Collette Armstrong (Canowindra), R/U Julie Roweth (Orange); Handicap Helen Constable (Canowindra), R/U Lindy Pollack (Forbes); Stableford Julie Scott (Grenfell), R/U Sue Healey (Orange); Nearest the Pin on the 4th Rose Carroll (Forbes).

Our raffle which was kindly donated by Annette and Faye Thomas and was won by Denise Haesler. By Eileen Wilson
