New plastic protection screens have been installed at Lawrence’s IGA at the checkout to combat the spread of COVID-19 and keep workers like Jess Flannery safe along with customer Earnest Norman.

In Canowindra we have seen a number of stores closing and offices removing staff and working from home in a bid to stop the spread of Coronavirus.
While schools remain open, Canowindra Public School, Canowindra High School and St Edward’s Canowindra have all recorded a massive drop in student attendance and on Monday of this week moved onto online learning.
At St Edward’s Primary School, Principal Mr Ken McNamara said “Today (Monday) we have 12% of students in attendance. The students attending are being supervised by me (the Principal) in one room, but they have been zoomed into their classroom teacher at different times for a lesson and their teachers have also called in to touch base. All our zoom lessons went really well, even our little Kinders were zooming with their phonics lessons!”
“The number of coronavirus cases in our region is growing and it’s now in all of our larger population centres. If you’re a senior Australian or have an underlying medical condition please start taking precautions if you haven’t already, It’s time to bunker down,” said Andrew Gee MP.
