Our Bloke – Nik Henry

20 February, 2020 By Canowindra Phoenix Editor

How long have you lived in or around Canowindra and what do you like about living here? I used to live out this way back in 1999-2007, then moved to Newcastle. Now, I have lived in Canowindra for the last 5 years.

Where do you work and what do you enjoy most about your work? I work for NSW Local Land Services mostly, but also work from home with our hobby/business to raise awareness of how great Industrial Hemp can be.

What do you do to unwind after work or on weekends? Have a rumble with the kids (mainly Toby), jump on the trampoline and tend to my very small Industrial Hemp Crop.

What are you really good at? Working out solutions to all sorts of problems, but mainly developing spatial mapping solutions.

What is your pet hate? That big companies and corporations have influenced government to the point that our democracy is failing us. There is a reason why they are called public services, they are here for us (the public).

If you could have a super power what would it be and why? To be able to heal disease with a single touch or word.

Tell us about your best holiday ever? The recent family holiday to Victoria (Melbourne, Philip Island and Beechworth), spent time with the kids playing at the beach and parks.

What makes your day? When my wife laughs at my jokes and the kids give me a cuddle.

Tell us an interesting fact about yourself? I grew up in a little coastal town called Rabaul, located on the eastern tip of an island called East New Britain (Papua New Guinea).
