Business Chamber and Progress Association Elects New Board

30 January, 2020 By Canowindra Phoenix Editor

The new board of the Canowindra Business Chamber and Progress Association include (from left to right) Emilia Kaszuba, Arthur Falconer, Anne Clark and Graeme Beasley.

The AGM of the Canowindra Business Chamber and Progress Association (CB- CPA) was held on Wednesday 22nd January with a good crowd in attendance. The new office bearers for 2020 are Chairperson – Arthur Falconer, Vice Chairperson – Graeme Beasley, Honorary Secretary – Emilia Kaszuba and Honorary Treasurer – Anne Clark.

Arthur Falconer welcomed everybody who attended and said, “It is imperative that all of the businesses and associations and local sporting groups attend these meetings particularly as the Canowindra Master Plan will involve all of these groups. There are many precincts outlined in the Master Plan analysis prepared by Caddie Marshall and they will all be approached by members of the CBCPA over the next three weeks. In addition, Cabonne Council will be asked to assist towards the cost of the independent consultants it is proposed the CBCPA would engage to take this Plan to the next stage.”

There are a number of issues to be addressed and these include the correct name for the group with associated branding, staying under the umbrella of the NSW Chamber of Commerce, and the establishment particularly of an Events Committee so that events can be managed to avoid clashes in the village.

The next meeting for the CBCPA is to be held on Wednesday February 19th at 5.30pm at the Canowindra Services Club. All groups, individuals, and businesses are invited to attend.
