Get Tested: If you’ve never been tested for HIV or haven’t had a test for more than a year, Western NSW Local Health District is encouraging you to get one done. Kim

Grant, Clinical Nurse Consultant for Sexual Health, said this HIV Awareness Week (23 – 30 November) in the lead up to World AIDS Day (1 December), is a good opportunity to take a test. You can get tested at your local GP or sexual health service. Or, if you want to test yourself at home, the Dried Blood Spot testing kit can be delivered to you and results are sent back by text, email or phone. For information on HIV testing, visit www.health.nsw.gov.au/hiv-test or call NSW Sexual Health Infolink on 1800 451 624.

Christmas Countdown: With only 27 days to go until Christmas don’t forget to Shop Local and Buy From The Bush this Christmas to support all the amazing local businesses in town!

Tilga St Crossing Lights Installed: Last Friday a set of motion-activated warning lights were installed at the Tilga St crossing between Canowindra Public School and St Edward’s Primary School. The lights will be sensor activated when pedestrians approach the crossing and will operate on school days when the flags are out from 8.00am – 4.00pm. The advantage of the lights is that they enhance visibility. It is very important students and parents know they still need to take care at the Tilga St crossing.
