Gooloogong Public School 4x100m Relay Team.

Gooloogong Public Schools 4x100m relay team of Grace McDonald, Tommy Williams, Harry McDonald and Archie McDonald have performed well at last week’s state athletics carnival at Sydney Olympic Park. After 8 weeks of solid training they ventured to Homebush and produced a PB in the heats. A tougher semi-final then produced a 3rd placing and in the heat produced a gallant 5th in the final. The four runners varying in ages from 8-12 years of age wish to thank Brett Blinman of Woodstock for his guidance and expertise in training them each week in Cowra.

Congratulations to Nellie Grant and Lachlan Rice from St Edward’s School who represented Polding at the PSSA State Athletics Carnival last week. Both Nellie and Lachie participated in the discus event and both should be very proud for reaching such a high level of competition.

Congratulations also to the State Athletes team from Canowindra Public School who competed admirably last week. Lila McCaffery finished 24th in the state for senior girls’ discus. Molly Statham came 4th in the state for 13yrs girls’100m and Riley Williams came 7th in the state for senior boys discus. It was particularly exciting for the Canowindra Public School students to watch Molly’s races live streamed which is a new initiative for the carnival.
