Local Girls Ride At National Championships

31 October, 2019 By Canowindra Phoenix Editor

Canowindra rider Rianna Reeves rides her horse ‘Grenwood Lulu’ at the TIC Pony Club Australia National Championships in Sydney.

Local girls Victoria Wythes and Rianna Reeves have returned from the recent TIC Pony Club Australia National Championships held in Sydney. Victoria was one of six riders selected on the dressage team from throughout NSW in the Sub-Junior under 13 age group and Rianna was one of six riders selected on the Junior Team, 13 -17 year age group. The selection process involved a number of qualifying camps, training events and competitions over the past 12 months.

Victoria rode her handsome stockhorse gelding ‘Bandalene Truman’ gaining a re- spectable 11th, 11th and 16th in her tests across the three days of competition.

Rianna rode her beautiful Welsh Cob mare ‘Grenwood Lulu’ placing 5th overall in the individual junior dressage and was a part of the 2019 National Junior Dressage Team with team mates Catelin Crawford from Tumut and Lily-rose Powell from the mid-north coast with the highest overall junior team scores from all states.

This caps off the year for both girls, with Rianna also competing at CDI in Sydney earlier in the year gaining 4th CDI Pony Individual dressage and 4th CDI Pony Team dressage.

During the year, Victoria also received the National ASH Youth Point Score for Under 13 Dressage and also Hacking, and Reserve National Point Score for under 13 Show jumping.

Congratulations to both girls on their wonderful achievements at this high level of competition.
