MEN’S BOWLS

Last Friday night eight teams competed in the social mixed mufti bowls with the winners being Nigel Knight and Roger Traves and the runners up being Crock Larry and Sue.

Two mixed pairs matches were played last Saturday. David Beath and Joyce Middleton played Mark Wright and Gwen Haydon. David and Joyce led throughout the game winning 30-13. Garry and Julie Fairley played Vinnie Mirto and Joice McNaught where Garry and Julie had a comfortable win 38-22. A major triples match was also played with Steve Kirkman, Paul Markcrow and Cyril Webb against David Watt, Larry Nunn and Nick Delaney. Cyril’s team took control early in the game to win the match 29-14.

Last Sunday a minor triples match was played with Alan Wyburn, Tot Fisher and Brian McClintock against Ron Symons, Garry Fairley and Kevin Walker. After 12 ends the scores were close being 12-11 in favour of Kevin’s team who were able to maintain their lead for the rest of the game winning 25-17.

Friday October 18: Social triples mixed mufti bowls sponsored by greenkeepers with winners receiving $120 and runners up $60. First 14 teams with entry fee being $15 per team. Teams must be mixed. Turn around triples with names in by 6pm for 6.30pm start. One game of 15 ends.

Saturday October 19: O’Brien Cup- D Beath and K Walker V V Mirto and B Bourke. Sunday October 20: Alan Wyburn (Westy) Presidents Day. Three games of 12 ends. $75 per team includes Chinese lunch. 9am rollup for 9.30am start. Wins plus ends. Winners and runners up prizes.

Best end round prize.
Wednesday badge draw $250, Friday

badge draw $400, Sunday badge draw $900. Bingo this Thursday 11am.
