Chifley Police District Commander, A/Superintendent Adam Beard is pleased to announce that a new Police Officer will be commencing duty in Canowindra in mid- October 2019. A vacancy was created in Canowindra in April this year when S/C Therese Miller transferred from Canowindra to Lightning Ridge.
The new officer will be moving into the Police residence in Canowindra with his wife and young family. The new officer is currently stationed at a Sydney metropolitan Police Command.
The community can be assured in the interim before the new officer starts that Police from Cowra are being tasked on a regular basis to attend Canowindra to undertake proactive Policing activities.
A/Superintendent Beard said “Likewise, we encourage people in Canowindra to report crime to us by calling the Cowra Police station on 6341 5099 or our Police assistance line on 131 444. Of course, if it is an emergency please call 000 and Police will attend as a matter of priority.”
