News from Canowindra High School … Harmony Day and The Relaunch of BOB

25 March, 2014 By Canowindra Phoenix Editor

Last Friday Canowindra High School celebrated Harmony Day and the fight against bullying. To show our support a large number of staff and students dressed in orange. A best dressed competition was judged by the SRC.

The Year 12 students did a fantastic job of running the re-launch of ‘Back Off Bully’. This included an informative session on bullying as well as a very exciting guest speaker…E-mann from Justice Crew! E-mann spoke about his time growing up in Orange and his experiences with bullying. Our students asked some excellent questions, saw him dance and excitedly waited for autographs.

At Recess students were provided with juice and cake while participating in chalk drawing under the COLA. Then it was back into the JSMH for a talk from Josie, a representative of the Black Dog Institute. Josie spoke about her fight against depression and the symptoms of depression and personality disorders.

It was a fantastic experience for the students with everyone soaking up the positive feel of the day.
