WALLA RUGBY

7 August, 2019 By Canowindra Phoenix Editor

A long wait finally ended for the under 7’s who have been missing their rugby. It didn’t take long to dust off the cobwebs with some terrific skills on display. In particular Jack Trengove and Spencer Douglass, scoring several run away tries. Special mention must go to Jack Nash and James Morrow who showed great sportsmanship by volunteering to help Parkes by playing for them.

Once the fog cleared Blayney turned on a cracking day for the Mozzies gala day. The 9’s faced up against Bathurst, Orange City and Forbes throughout the day. Forbes as always performed well in what was our toughest game, but the boys refused to give an inch. Rueben Cleary and Sam Breen lead the defence with some crunching tackles. Clancy Hazelton and Will Swords showed some blistering pace on the edges as well in attack. Both coaches were extremely proud of the whole team effort in supporting each other right to the end.

Under 11’s played 3 great games coming away with wins against Kinross & Emus – with a tough physical game to finish off the day against Forbes.
A huge effort as a team, with everyone trying a different position with plenty of passing in each game making all the difference. Coaches points to Hamish, Hugh & Cooper W.
