Funding For Baroquefest

5 June, 2019 By Canowindra Phoenix Editor

The Canowindra Baroquefest will receive $5,000 in funding through the latest Orange Regional Arts Foundation grant round. This funding will be used to bring Adhoc Baroque from Canberra and to support the extensive Community Education Program.

The Orange Regional Arts Foundation is a community company, established in 1984 when community members contributed their own money which was then invested so that the interest on the investments could be used to support the arts in Orange.

“ORAF have been generous with funding assistance since Baroquefest’s inception in 2015. It gives us confidence that this Canowindra based festival is perceived to make a valuable contribution to the cultural diversity of the region and it helps to keep ticket prices for truly world class music at an affordable level for locals and visitors,” said Richard Statham, Chairman of Baroquefest.

Today, The Orange Regional Arts Foundation continues to provide ongoing support for arts and cultural development through a submission process with closing dates on the 30th March and 30th September. Applications are assessed by the Board against the Foundations Funding Principles: Projects that take place in Orange and Region (Orange, Blayney and Cabonne Council areas); show excellence and innovation; have a lasting impact and benefit the community as a whole and show long-term sustainability.

Since its establishment the Orange Regional Arts Foundation, through membership funds, has given more than $700,000 to support the arts in Orange. Membership involves a gift of $250 per year for 4 years, with all gifts being tax deductable.

“By becoming a member of the Orange Regional Arts Foundation you are investing in your family’s future and taking some responsibility for the benefits available to us all who live in the Orange community,” said Meg Simpson, Chairperson, Orange Regional Arts Foundation.
