MEN’S BOWLS

Last week a Minor Pairs match was played with Ron Symons and Garry Fairley against Paul Markcrow and Nick Delaney. For the first half of the game Ron and Garry led with the score 10-8 after 13 ends. Then Nick and Paul took control of the game to win the match 20-11.

There are no championship games drawn for this weekend due to unavailability of key players. Games can be played at any time by mutual agreement of players.

Nominations are now called for the Consistency Singles and O’Brien Cup.

Sunday May 5 – The club is presenting Sunday Sessions at The Bowlo supporting regional talent with the performer this Sunday being Daryl Byrne.

Wednesday badge draw will be $500. Friday badge draw will be $500. Sunday badge draw will be $450. Bingo this Thursday 11am.

WOMEN’S BOWLS

There were two matches played in the Pairs Championship on Tuesday, 23rd, April. Nancy Morrow and Deanna Noble defeated Sandy McDonald and Christine Pickard 21-18. Jill Messenger and Colleen Crump defeated Diane Slattery and Betty Jenkins 24-12.

There were two social games played. Daph Bryant and Liz Thornberry defeated Radka Tatterson and Linda Miller 23-18. Penny Nash, Jeanette Wheeldon and Dianne Mooney defeated Julie Wythes and Gwen Haydon 16-10. Julie played lead and second.

Two Canowindra teams travelled to Forbes for the Mini Carnival on 27th April and enjoyed their day at Forbes. One match was played in the Pairs Championship on Tuesday, 30th April. Nancy Morrow and Deanna Noble defeated Jeanette Wheeldon and Joice McNaught 30-11.

There were two social games played. Leanne Stevenson, Jill Messenger and Gwen Haydon defeated Daph Bryant and Joyce Middleton 14-12. Daph played lead and second. Shirley Robson, Diane Slattery and Jo Davies defeated Jenny Daly, Liz Thornberry and Colleen Crump 23-21. The Lucky Draw was won by Jeanette Wheeldon with No. 21.

Our very good wishes go with our No. 2 Pennant team who will be competing in the Pennant Playoffs at West Dubbo Club on 7th and 8th May.
