Canowindra Pythons Rugby Union

3 April, 2019 By Canowindra Phoenix Editor

Last Friday night the Canowindra-Cowra ladies played a trial at home against Orange City. This was the first time all 13 ladies have played together since joining and surprisingly the game went extremely well with the ladies getting the win 34-17 with one of the tries being scored by Ash after her magnificent intercept, and the high knees down the sideline got the whole crowd cheering!

We had some big hits from the more experienced Cowra ladies and the new Canowindra ladies were very impressive.

We look forward to taking on Orange City this Saturday for the first round of the season.

Last Saturday the Men’s side played a trial game against Wagga third grade in Forbes. The boys came out on top with a win 19-12 with tries to Stu Gavin, Tim Somers and James Wolters and Hayden Cummings converted two kicks.

Huge thanks to the new boys from Orange who are playing this season with the Pythons, Cumbo for throwing on some boots at the last minute, Kristy White for strapping and running the water and Byron Cummings for running water and the kicking tee.
