Put It In Park

31 October, 2018 By Canowindra Phoenix Editor

The $1.3 million car park extensions at Orange Health Service have all been completed, ahead of schedule. Parliamentary Secretary for Western NSW Rick Colless MLC said last week that the project had added over 150 new parking spaces.

“The Government promised to build more car parks across the Orange health campus and we’ve delivered,” Mr Colless said.

“There is now over 870 car parking spaces for patients, families and visitors to use when visiting the hospital. “We know this has been a long time coming. The Government announced plans in 2016, and it was a long battle to find sites to accommodate additional parking because of heritage issues and being next to a golf course.”

“The Local Health District has worked hard to come up with workable solutions to deliver the extra spaces.” Western NSW Local Health District (WNSWLHD) Chief Executive Scott Mclachlan said Orange Health service is a busy hospital, performing complex work on a large number of people from this community and the wider region as well.

“Enhancements in radiation oncology, medical oncology and ambulatory care services means we are treating more people than ever at Orange,” Mr Mclachlan said.

“We are committed to providing patients or visitors with a high quality experience, which includes being able to access the facilities as easily as possible.”
