Sheps Corner Facelift: Shep’s Corner has received some much needed attention with a lovely garden bed built and completed by Cabonne Council. The corner now looks much more appealing.
Engagement Congratulations: Congratulations to Rebecca Tangye and Brendon Douglas of Young on their engagement. Rebecca is the youngest child of Sharon and Colin Tangye of Gooloogong. Brendon is the third son of Lynne and Garry Douglas of Young. Rebecca is a granddaughter of Nancy Morrow of Canowindra and John McLean of Katunga, VIC.
New Road Rule: From 1st September 2018 a new road rule applies to improve the safety of emergency workers when they are stopped on the road. The new rule requires motorists to slow down to 40km/h when passing a stationary emergency vehicle displaying blue or red flashing lights and also requires motorists to give way to any person on foot in the immediate area of the emergency vehicle.

Baroquesfest Planning Well Underway: The Canowindra Baroquefest committee and Big Little Histories organisers met at Montrose House on Monday morning to discuss this year’s event details. Baroquefest is now in its fourth year will again present an excellent program of nationally and internationally acclaimed artists and a variety of music over the weekend of October 19-21. Great results for Canowindra girls at Country Championships: Addison and Reaghan Fliedner joined Central West Gymnastics in Orange in Term 1 of this year and were selected to compete in Sports Acrobatics. They recently attended their first competition in the school holidays at the Country Championships in Glendale (Newcastle). Addison and her partner came 2nd in the competition for their level and Reaghan and her partner came 4th in their level. A massive achievement for their first competitive outing and their first year in the sport. They train for an hour and a half a week and also have begun training for level 1 gymnastics, which they train for an hour each week also.
