Swimming Club Report

12 March, 2014 By Canowindra Phoenix Editor

Medley Championships Results:

Firstly, a request from the table officials and marshal, could a certain female Year 11 swimmer be ready in swimmers, cap and goggles by roll call so her fellow swimmers don’t have to wait on the blocks while she sprints down the pool deck.

Eliza Ward and Jonty Thurgate were too fast for the Spoon semis as they improved their time by 5 and 4 seconds respectively.

Ryan Ellis improved his time by 2 seconds and after some pointed comments from Jarrod Strange, Paul Sinfield put in a big effort, dropped a second from his time so now both men have a time of 13 seconds for the 25m freestyle.

Ella Breen swam a PB of 27 seconds to take home the Spoon ahead of the fast-finishing trio of Max Wensley, Zac Giger and Stewart Russell. Well done Ella.

Fifty four swimmers still had enough energy at the end of the night for the relay and it was a ding dong struggle as different lanes pulled ahead and fell behind due to the speed of the swimmers.

Wade Kinsela anchored lane 6 to win over lane 4 and lane 1.

Taking home the pennants with Wade were Ella Breen, Lucas Ellis, Caleb Giger, Georgie Fisher, Meg Austin, Mila Gower, Mitch Stanley and Jonty Thurgate.

200m freestyle is this week’s championship,  sign up by Wednesday afternoon and be ready for roll call at 5:45pm.
