WOMEN’S BOWLS
Results of one match played on Tuesday 6th February.
MINOR SINGLES – 2nd round Betty Jenkins defeated Penny Nash 26-19. Thanks to the marker Christine Pickard. Three social games were played one three bowls pairs, one triples and one fours. Joyce Middleton and Sandy McDonald defeated Jenny Daly and Gwen Haydon 26-10.
Moyna Rue, Nancy Morrow and Jenny Middleton defeated Jeanette Wheeldon, Jill Messenger and Diane Slattery 28-12. Leanne Stevenson, Daph Bryant, Deanna Noble and Colleen Crump defeated Linda Miller, Liz Thornberry and Dianne Mooney 19-12. The Lucky Draw was won by Tracey Fitzgerald with No. 33.
We have two of our members celebrating birthdays this month Karen Cox on 12th and Bobbie Turner on 17th, and she will be 92 years, well done. A very happy birthday to you both.
MEN’S BOWLS
Last Friday night the twilight barefoot bowls was proudly sponsored by Bob and Shirley Robson. The winners were the team of Tubby and Anne Worboys and Wendy Bates while the runners up were the team of Terry and Di Mooney and Betty Jenkins. Last Sunday a mixed pairs match was played with Joyce Middleton and David Beath against Marion Wilson and Matt Mc- Mullen. Joyce and David were always in control of the game winning 31-18. Friday February 9 – Be sure to be at the club by 6.00pm if you wish to participate in
the novelty event worth a jackpot in excess of $265. Twilight barefoot bowls will follow at 6.30pm. One game of 15 ends with the entry fee being $21 per team.
Saturday February 10 – Mixed pairs semifinal – D Beath and J Middleton v R Traves and Betty Jenkins. Sunday February 11 – Winner of Saturday’s game will play M Wright and G Haydon in the final. Nominations for the major and minor singles as well as the major and minor pairs will close this Sunday night.
