Cec Balcombe... Our Bloke

Cec Balcombe… Our Bloke

Cec has been living in and around Canowindra now for most of his live, with the last 15 years living in town, when he moved from his farm.   He retired in 2003 and then went on to manage a farm out at Mandurama.

On Friday of this week he and his wife will be moving to Cowra to reside in the Bilyara Retirement Village, in an independent living section.   They have been married for 52 years which is a good reason to celebrate.

Cec has loved working hard all his life, and with the farm he cherished being out in the fresh air, and being able to make all his own decisions.

He starts his day by just getting out of bed and then having breakfast.   What makes is day is helping people and being happy.      He is involved in many charities including the Men’s Shed, Golden Oldies and the Food Basket as well as the Co-operating Churches of Canowindra.   Cec and his wife also started the Canowindra Markets back in 2002 which have evolved to become the Moorbel Markets.

He has two children, 3 grandchildren and loves a good coffee, whether it be a Bills Beans from Finns Store or a flat white from the Deli Lama.
