MEN’S BOWLS
Last Sunday an O’Brien Cup match was played with Larry Nunn and Matthew Lawrence against Cyril Webb and Jono Preston. Larry and Matthew had a lead up to the second last end 24-22, then Cyril and Jono scored three shots on the last end winning the game 25-24. A consistency singles match was also played with Pat Kennedy against Nick Delaney. Pat took control from early in the game winning 151-115.
Saturday September 16 – O’Brien Cup – R Traves and M Baldwin v K Walker and D Rollinson. Consistency singles – P Taylor v M Lawrence and Marker is D Beath. M Cramp v C Webb and Marker is S Kirkman. B Webb v M McMullen and Marker is I Nelder.
Sunday September 17 – O’Brien Cup – S Fisher and B Webb v A Wyburn and P Taylor. T Mooney and G Fairley v M McMullen and M Cramp. Consistency Singles – D Beath v V Mirto and Marker is P Kennedy.
WOMEN’S BOWLS
Results of four matches played on Tuesday 12 September. Consistency – 1st round Moyna Rue defeated Bobbie Turner 151- 144. 2nd round Joyce Middleton defeated Joice McNaught 150-130 and Jo Davies defeated Deanna Noble 151-129. 3rd round Jenny Middleton defeated Betty Jenkins 153-107. Thanks to the markers Diane Slattery, Sandy McDonald, Christine Pickard & Dianne Mooney.
There were two games of social bowls played one Pairs & one Triples. Penny Nash & Jill Messenger defeated Leanne Stevenson & Ellen Petty 17-12. Shirley Robson, Jeanette Wheeldon & Radka Tattterson defeated Jenny Daley & Daph Bryant 19-12.
Marion Wilson, Nancy Morrow, Libby Balcombe & Gwen Haydon are competing in the Taber Shield being played at Mudgee, Janice Crump is competing in another District team.
