Belubula Butchery an institution on Gaskill St, has been sold with the new owner’s taking over last week on Friday 25 August. Murray O’Malveney has purchased the butcher shop from Toby Newcombe and will re-name it Muzzy’s Quality Meats, but don’t worry Toby and Moose’s friendly faces will still be in the shop each day to serve you and have a chat.
Toby started his work as an apprentice in 1964 as a 14 year old boy at Belubula Butchery with Beau Waddell. Toby worked hard for 14 years until he took over the business on 1 January 1978 in what is now home to the Canowindra Phoenix – 84 Gaskill St. In 1982 Toby purchased and moved the shop to 39 Gaskill St where it is today.
We are sure all of Canowindra would like to congratulate Toby on owning the butcher shop for just under 40 years, which is such a great achievement in business! Toby and his family would like to thank Canowindra and the surrounding towns and villages for all of the support shown over the past 40 years. Toby would like to wish Muz and his family all the best for the future with the business.
