MENS BOWLS
Last Saturday an O’Brien Cup match was played with Steve Fisher and Bruce Webb against Mark Wright and Ken Fisher. After 8 ends the scores were reasonably close with Steve and Bruce leading 16-14. After that Steve and Bruce took control and won the game 32-19.
Another O’Brien Cup match was played with Phil Sargent and Vinnie Mirto against Nick Delaney and Phil Lees. Nick and Phil were always in control of the game winning 41-20. Last Sunday a consistency singles match was played with Max Baldwin against Terry
Mooney. Terry was able to lead with a comfortable margin throughout the game winning 150-110.
Saturday August 12 – Minor singles final – P Kennedy v J Preston and Marker is D Beath.
Consistency singles – M Lawrence v K Fisher and Marker is A Wyburn. T Mooney v M Cramp and Marker is I Nelder. B Webb v M McMullen and Marker is V Mirto.
Sunday August 13 – O’Brien Cup – R Traves and M Baldwin v K Walker and D Rollinson. M Lawrence and L Nunn v C Webb and J Preston. T Mooney and G Fairley v M Cramp and M McMullen.
Coming event – Saturday August 19 – Turn around triples mixed mufti bowls. Males and females in teams. Prize money proudly sponsored by Mens Bowls. Winners will receive $180 and runners up will receive $60. Names in by 12.30pm for 1.00pm start. Two games of 12 ends with entry fee being $21 per team.

Results of three matches played in the Rose Bowl Handicap Singles on Tuesday 8 August, 2017. 3rd Round – Gwen Haydon defeated
Ellen Petty 25-17. Penny Nash defeated Leanne Stephenson 25-8. Jo Davies defeated Deanne Noble 25-22. Libby Balcombe defeated Bobbie Turner 25-9. Moyna Rue won on a forfeit from Jennifer Middleton.
Thanks to markers Dianne Slattery, Radka Tatterson, Christine Pickard and Jeanette Wheeldon.
Two games of Social Bowls were also played – Nancy Morrow and Moyna Rue defeated Jill Messenger and Joice McNaught 19-12.
Joyce Midleton, Daph Bryant and Sandy McDonald defeated Liz Thornberry, Betty Jenkins and Dianne Mooney 20-10. The lucky draw was won by Karen Cox with No 30.
