Junior Rugby

7 June, 2017 By Canowindra Phoenix Editor

Another great weekend of Junior Rugby with the U13’s playing Orange Emus in a very tight game. The forwards played a great defensive game and the backs ran the ball out wide to score 4 times. Unfortunately the Emus scored in the last minute to win the game 32- 26.

The Walla Gala Day was in Cowra and the U7’s enthusiasm for rugby is growing with every game.

A great game with a highlight being Mossman Stingrays and that the boys spelt out CANOWINDRA!

The U9’s had a few tough hit outs in Cowra this week, the young side are showing great commitment by backing up to power on every game. Marcus was most improved in defence and the team awarded Players Player to Sam.

The U11’s had an epic first game destroying Bathurst Bulldogs 6 tries to nil. They went down to Emus in the 2nd, but ‘psyched up’ to beat the second Bulldogs team in the 3rd game. Hassad’s player of the week goes to Mitch Stephens for running and playing with gusto.

The Canowindra Pythons would like to pass on our condolences to Cowra Rugby and the family of Paul ‘Poppa’ Smith, our thoughts are with you all.
