New Balloon Announced: The Hummingbird Balloon will travel all of the way from Albuquerque to Canowindra for the International Balloon Challenge.

New Playground: Canowindra Public School officially opened their new playground last week with the P&C raising $28 000 for the new equipment. The specific play equipment was chosen to suit a range of ages as well as being safe and fun for the students. The students already love it!
Hemp as a renewable resource: Commercial production of hemp is permitted under legislation in Victoria, Tasmania, Queensland, ACT and Western Australia. Many are using it as a building material as it is flame, water and pest resistant. It is also naturally non-toxic, an incredible insulation material, strong, lightweight, breathable and energy efficient. Hemp is not the same strand of plant as marijuana.
Upgrade Escort Way: The notorious black spot near Eugowra has received a $460 000 upgrade to improve safety. The work involved includes a barrier, shoulder sealing and enlarging the distance between the edge of the roadway and dangerous obstacles.
