Minister Roads Maritime and Freight, seems to be thin skinned from criticism over the lack of meaningful infrastructure spend across NSW.
We know that all the dozens/scores/hun- dreds/great mobs of bicycle riders you see on the roads (often outnumbering kanga- roos in some areas) are a hazard and that there should be more bicycle paths and tracks to get them away from other road users. It’s a great shame that the bridges and other road improvements do not cater for the high bicycle numbers that travellers see as they move about the State. It is sug- gested that more ‘wheel-in’ stops should be provided for the worn out rider in an attempt to have them straighten up and not wobble around as they pedal or coast up and down dale in a hope for regulating their numbers ‘out on the track’. Collision with bicycles
and riders is to be avoided of course for, as we know, they do not have much pro- tection and at a distance can resemble a roo. Perhaps, Minister Gay, (oops, is that allowed?) could build parallel path’s for the bikers – outside the road along the bound- ary fence say, with a protective barrier that hides them from possibly distracted vehicle drivers.
Perhaps the local Huntin’, Fishin’ and Farmin’ fella could offer some infrastructure advice, structured from his travels around the place doin’ all those things.
