Liz Mitchell and Mel Gersbach, the co-ordinators of the local Christmas Shopping Night in Canowindra on Saturday are to be
congratulated on the success of the day. Liz said, “We are extremely happy with the support from the local business owners who joined together to provide a feeling of festivity in the main street.” Customers who were in town for the afternoon/evening remarked what a lovely feeling it was in the street with the music at the Old Vic Inn floating down the street.
Following 4 months of planning with the local sub committee from the Canowindra Business Chamber, the Christmas Shopping Night provided a boom for local business owners and rewarded customers with some great shopping specials. The street was decorated with the now famous Santa’s thanks to the local Lions Club putting up the display on Thursday afternoon.
Many of the local shops offered specials, which happy customers were keen to take up. Liz said, special thanks should be given to Adloyalty who donated the printing of the flyers, Phil and Mel Gersbash for assistance in securing the music, and the Canowindra
Phoenix who gave extra space to assist in the promotion of the event. This is now a regular date in the calendar each year.
