The Canowindra Showgirl Ball is on Saturday 17th September at 6.30pm at the Canowindra Bowling Club. This years entrants are Philippa Myers, Kate Beath and Meg Austen. Philippa Myers has spent most of her life in Canowindra growing up on a property
on the outskirts of town. She is currently studying Pharmacy at CSU Orange after already working in the industry for five years. She hopes to work in a rural Pharmacy and eventually run one, one day, as she has a passion for improving rural health. “I feel I have grown so much as a person and I want to put my best foot forward in representing my town,” Philippa said.

Kate Beath has grown up in Canowindra all her life up until recently when she gained a position at Novotel Canberra as the Assistant Manager. She is also studying Psychology by distance at CSU Bathurst where she hopes to pursue a career in. “I think now is the perfect time for me to step up and be a voice for farmers in our region to help tell their story,” Kate said.

Meg Austen has grown up in Canowindra most of her life and she proudly calls it home. She is currently completing year 12 and hopes to study health. Meg can see the limited health services available within rural NSW and hopes to work within these areas to improve the communities health. “I am so proud to give back for the opportunities I have received from living in Canowindra,” Meg said.

Showgirls will receive their entrant sash and have a short interview on stage. Viewing tickets are still available for $10 at the door.
