Baler Delivers for Lucerne Growers

Doug Grant showing off his new baler

A slice of Germany is now present in our small town, with the popularity of the Krone Balers increasing throughout the Central West and parts of Victoria. Doug Grant is the very proud owner of a Krone Big Pack 1290, High- Speed Baler that he purchased locally from McClintocks, and suggests that it is ‘chalk n cheese’ to any other baler he has had.

“The one I purchased is a 4 X 3 Baler and it is just a beaut piece of machinery. It definitely doesn’t compare to balers I have had in the past. It’s fast and very efficient due to updated technology and simplicity”, Doug boasted.

The Big Pack 1290 makes bales like bricks. The high density bailing system and the longer bale chamber lead to an increase in bale weight by up to 25% over traditional systems. This pays for itself quickly when transporting straw.

As every farmer knows, time is money, so possessing a piece of machinery that is ultimate in speed and capacity is essential to productive farming. The Krone Big Pack 1290 produces 1 bale every 28 seconds and grabs the lucerne firmly so there is less chance of blocking.

Krone is a German, family owned manufacturing company of modern forage harvesting equipment to the highest quality standards, and at competitive prices.

“After performing a demonstration of the Krone Baler to a few of our local farmers, six of them have already purchased one just by observing its’ performance”, Richard McLeish from McClintocks explained.

Doug and his lovely wife Vicky Grant were lucky enough to have received two trips to Germany for purchasing two Krone Balers over the last 2 years.

“If you ever get the chance you should defi- nitely go to Germany, it is so clean and is a really beautiful place”, Doug said.
