LADIES GOLF

8 June, 2016 By Canowindra Phoenix Editor

The Good Will Plate was contested last Wednesday in the form of stoke play under glorious conditions for this time of year. The very deserving winner was Annette Thomas with Nett 72. Annette won A grade for the day and the very surprised B grade winner was Rhonda with a 76 Nett. A raffle was also held, with all proceeds forwarded to Golf NSW who will pass the funds onto the nominated charity.

Margie Sharpe was the raffle winner while Rhonda won the ball sweep. The Lawford Cup Match Play friendly final was played on Thursday between Annette and Eileen, with Eileen winning this one. Thanks to Helen Kemper for umpiring. Pennants at West Wyalong were postponed to Thursday 9th June due to wet weather.

Next week will be the Veterans’ Championship with the Cowra tournament the following week. The Trangie tournament will be on the 21st and Grenfell will be on the 26th.

The golf rule books ‘Do I Get A Drop’, a very fast way to find answers to rules and questions, will be available soon at the club. The book is A5 size, illustrated and will cost $14.50 or you can get the pocket guide for $8.80. Please indicate your interest for these whilst at the club. A reminder that tee off is now at 9.30am.
