Canowindra Cricket Club held a very successful Australia Day T20 match, raising over $200 for the Jane McGrath foundation.
The town team beat the suburbs by 20 runs. Suburbs batted 1st making 162 with Tom Roth scoring 45 Lachlan Davis surviving his golden duck making 27 & Mat Beaton 29 the main contributors. The town side made 182 off their 20 overs in reply with Kain Earsman 56 & Mat Harrison 50 not out.
All players gave generously for the fundraiser and dressed in the spirit of Australia Day, while in the outer, a BBQ, swimming pool and loud music kept the crowd entertained.
The fundraiser is part of a double for the Jane McGrath Foundation in 2014 to be followed with the clubs Pink Stumps Day on February 15 in the first grade match against Valleys.
