The new $8.3 million Canowindra HealthOne is ready to open its doors to patients, staff and visitors, providing enhanced, integrated and multi-disciplinary community healthcare services from a modern, purpose-built facility.
Final preparations are underway to formally open the new facility, after the local community joined healthcare staff and project teams on site last week to mark the completion of construction and walk through the new building.
The Canowindra HealthOne will accommodate community and primary healthcare services on the existing hospital site, bringing healthcare providers together in one location.
This includes Canowindra Health Service’s existing community health services such as Speech Pathology, Occupational Therapy and Dietetics, which will begin operating from the new HealthOne on Wednesday 9 September.
To ensure a smooth transition for staff and to minimise disruption for patients, relocation plans have been put in place for a coordinated move. Community health services will not be available on Tuesday 8 September, to accommodate the move.
Minister for Regional Health Ryan Park, said: “I’m thrilled to see the completion of this modern, purpose-built facility, which will be a game-changer for the people of Canowindra and its surrounding communities.
“With a range of providers co-located on the existing hospital site, the new HealthOne will become a connected healthcare hub, whether it be hospital, primary care or community services.”
