$50,000 Pledge for The Community Bank

16 July, 2014 By Canowindra Phoenix Editor

Cabonne Council has thrown its weight behind Canowindra’s bid to establish a community bank in the town.

The Council has pledged to place $50,000 of its investments with Bendigo Bank should the bank open a branch in Canowindra, provided it was consistent with Council’s investment policy.

Mayor Ian Gosper said the Council was happy to support the Canowindra community’s push for the new bank.

“Canowindra residents are hoping to obtain $750,000 in pledges to establish Bendigo Bank in the town. I understand more than $500,000 has been pledged so far and hopefully Council’s $50,000 pledge will keep that momentum going,” Cr Gosper said.

For further information, or to pick up a pledge form, please call Cheryl Newsom on 0411 211 065 or drop into the office at 65 Gaskill Street.

In our quest to achieve the required target of $700,000 in pledges, the Committee is holding an evening presentation and discussion. We cordially invite you and any friends, family members or colleagues to attend, especially those who are yet to pledge.

Location: Finns Store – 35 Gaskill St, Canowindra.
Date: 7PM – Thursday 24th of July, 2014.
