Over the past quarter of a century the community polo club of Millamolong has been able to showcase top quality polo from its ground along the Belubula Way. The club has a proud heritage, raising over $230,000 for local and international charities and being the first polo club in the Southern Hemisphere to host an official all ladies international. Join in and celebrate 25 years of the sport in our community at the Millamolong Polo John Davis VOLVO Carnival on March 14th and 15th. There will be the usual heart stopping polo all weekend, with plenty of country glamour, fun and frivolity plus by going along you will be supporting and raising money for 3 charities – Riding for Disabled Orange (RDA), Camp Quality and the Faraja Orphanage in Tanzania. There will be bike polo, a car vs horse race, a NSW v Victoria match and the ever popular kid’s tent. It was somewhere west of Sydney, in the Central West dry scrub
That they formed an institution called the Millamolong Polo Club
They were tough and hardy horseman, who as boys had learned to ride,
And they’d turned their hand to playing polo, down by the Belubula river side.
And with camaraderie, toil and energy – the Club did surely grow,
Our sacred ground now 25 years old- “three score years and ten of polo more to go!”
For bushmen and townsfolk alike, they need somewhere to gather,
To taste the fruits, the wine and cheese, good company and friends that matter.
