$21,000 Raised For Hospital

21 November, 2019 By editor

The Garden Club and Hospital Auxiliary Members at the cheque presentation on Tuesday.

Over the past three years the Canowindra Garden Club has raised a massive $21,000 for the Canowindra Hospital Auxiliary through its annual Spring Garden Event at Noojee Lea.

On Tuesday the Garden Club handed over a cheque for $6,700 to the Hospital Auxiliary at their monthly meeting.

“Canowindra Hospital are very appreciative for this amazing donation today and over the year’s from Canowindra Garden Club. The Patient Lounge is well used by patients and their families each day,” said Janice Rumph, Health Services Manager.

The $21,000 raised has all gone towards the renovation and refurbishment of the Patient Lounge at the Canowindra Hospital. To date the Patient Lounge now has new flooring, new roller blinds and fresh paint. This years donation will go towards some new furniture for the area.

“We would like to thank Johnny Lawrence, Chris Cuddy, Luke Gordon, Jo Marais and Melissa Barber for their help and support with this year’s event. The Garden Club will now take a break from holding the Spring Garden event at Noojee Lea, however the Curran family are happy for community groups to utilise the property to raise money for their chosen group,” said Carolyn Wythes, Garden Club President.
