The Qld Variety Club Bash came to town on Saturday morning in Canowindra, on it’s way to the big race at Bathurst. Stopping overnight in Forbes, before heading to Canowindra, they certainly made a colourful sight as they stopped at Delice for a morning coffee. The Variety Bash started in 1985, raising money for charity along the way, with all proceeds going to support children who are sick, disadvantaged or who have special needs. Every entrant has to raise money for Variety and all vehicles
must be at least 30 years old or older at the time of entry and be non-performance modified.
The single most significant rule of the Bash is to relax and enjoy the event away from everyday pressures, whilst seeing and experiencing the splendour of the Australian Outback. This bash started in Warwick in Queensland and ended on Sunday 9th October at Bathurst. There were many varied and interesting themes on some of the cars, and the participants certainly seemed to be getting into the spirit of things with their costumes and wigs. If you haven’t taken part, put it on your Bucket List as something to do, you will have a lot of fun.
