The 2014 Canowindra Christmas Day Lunch was a great success! Around 55 people attended and everyone shared and enjoyed the Christmas celebration, due to the fantastic support given by and for the community of Canowindra. Thank you to everyone that contributed, especially to The Canowindra Bowling Club for a great venue, The Food Basket, CWA, The Bullock Family and Spencer Chapman for their music, The Canowindra News, Neil Gill from 2GZ FM, The Canowindra Phoenix, Canowindra @ Home, St. Vincent de Paul, All Saints Anglican Church, St Edwards Catholic Church and the Canowindra Uniting Church. There are so many individuals and businesses that generously gave their support through the donation of goods, advertising, venue and food preparation, serving and clearing. Decorations and tables were prepared through our local Schools and Moyne Eventide Home.
Canowindra is extremely fortunate to have a strong community and Christmas Spirit active and willingly to be shared with others. The Canowindra Christmas Day Lunch Committee needs more people who are willing to contribute to the planning, preparation and organizing of the day. If you have ever considered becoming involved in a community project with a friendly group of people and welcoming of new ideas then perhaps this is your opportunity. Please contact Marion on 63441716 for further details. Planning and organizing is essential even if you are unable to come on the day.
If anyone would like to leave any feedback regarding the Christmas Day Lunch you can do so by dropping a note in the box provided at the Canowindra Post Office. I’d like to take the opportunity to extend a very massive ‘Thank You’ to all the volunteers we have in Canowindra in so many different ways. We are very fortunate to have so many community minded people. Our community spirit and support for Canowindra truly does mean ’Home’.
