Ladies Golf

19 August, 2015 By Canowindra Phoenix Editor

5 August was yet another cold day on the course although the competition was heating up. Annette and Eileen were 1 stroke behind Helen and Ross, the leaders in the Foursomes Championship and this was the final round!

After the 17th, both teams were even. Anette and Eileen took two putts and then Helen did it – the pressure putt of the series and in it went securing Helen and Ross the Foursomes Championship for 2015. Rhonda and Helen C had a fantastic day and were the daily winners.

The Eileen Garnsey Memorial Shield match play final was played between Helen Kemper & Eileen Wilson on Saturday in absolutely perfect weather conditions; sunshine and a top of 15 degrees with a slight breeze. With Eileen +3 after the front 9, Helen made a great match to take it to the 17th where the
match was finally decided on, with Eileen the eventual winner.

This Friday Annette & Eileen will travel to Wellington to play with 46 players from across the Western Districts who have all qualified to play in the WDLGA 4BBB finals. Upcoming tournaments include Condobolin, Cobar, Narromine, Manildra and Albert. Planning is underway for our Canowindra Tournament on Thursday 10th September.
